KZN_Naturist YOUR vote has only a circa 1 in 50000 chance of affecting the results regardless which party you vote for, small or large. Now okay, there are some guaranteed-to-get-zero-seats parties like GPSA and KISS, but I think ZACP is beyond this point and YOUR vote has only about 44999/45000 chance of being wasted (as in: not affecting the seat allocations) as opposed to 49999/50000 is you vote for a bigger party. (Parties seem to get a few thousand votes just for existing, whether this is through drunkenness or "protest voting" or whatever.)
A party also doesn't need the full quota to get a seat. Full quotas only drive the first round of seat allocation; after that, up to 5 parties get another seat according to which of them get the highest remainders after dividing votes by the quota. And then after that, a 3rd round by votes/seat ratio.
In the 2014 elections, APC got 30676 votes out of a quota of 45892, yet they got a seat. And Agang SA got only 52350 votes but got two seats. Each vote for Agang SA counted almost for two according to this DA "don't vote for a small party" misinformation's own logic.
