Liza Do you feel the research-to-pills pipeline in SA is overregulated, underregulated, or just about right? I default to thinking it's overregulated (because I'm pretty libertarian); if you agree, would you want us in SA to spend political energy on doing something about that, or rather have us "stay in our lane" and let the US deal with the research, and have us just sponge off their work?
Are there any areas of patient care that might stand to be deregulated? Like maybe relaxed (or removed entirely) requirements for certain kinds of patient care?
Should medical students continue to be enslaved to the state for 2 years after graduation?
What else makes doctors' (and other medical professionals) working lives miserable? Are there fees that need to be paid for registration that act as an anticompetitive barrier, maybe to doctors who only want to take on a low workload?
